National Tap Dance Day Performance Opportunity for Tap Dancers of all ages and levels on May 24, 2025.
In honor of what is widely perceived as a dying art form, we will breathe life into tap dance by producing a free Tap Dance concert for the public at the George Seuffert, Sr. Bandshell Shell in Forest Park, Queens.
This concert will include special live tap dance performances from tap professionals, tap dance companies, and dance studio teachers & students on a sprung wood floor.
There will be live music, a DJ, and a special collaboration performance by Singer/Songwriter Frank Persico and #Taplife Company. We will also honor a current tap community leader as a "Champion for Tap Dance," awarding them with an "Official Taplife Hero Foundation Citation" and plaque.
There will be an option for everyone in attendance to learn how to tap dance for free!! Classes throughout the day will be taught by members of #Taplife Company and led by world-renowned tap dancer and Queens native, Anthony Lo Cascio.
